Business area Civil Engineering is a leading actor in Sweden and one of the larger players in Norway. Civil Engineering works with landscaping and pipelines, builds and maintains roads, railroads, bridges and other infrastructure as well as does foundation work. Operations are organized in geographic regions, a region for foundations and, as of 2026, a region for major infrastructure projects as well.
Net sales and profit
April – June 2026
Activity was high during the second quarter 2026 in business area Civil Engineering. Net sales increased by 15 percent and amounted to SEK 5,120 million (4,433). The increase is largely due to several major ongoing infrastructure projects.
Operating profit increased to SEK 273 million (204) and the operating margin improved to 5.3 percent (4.6).
January – June 2026
Activity was high during the first half-year 2026 in business area Civil Engineering. Several Nordic countries have announced major infrastructure investments in new investments as well as operation and maintenance. In addition, public investments are being made in, among other things, water and sewerage and power supply, as well as investments related to the ongoing climate transition. Net sales increased by 13 percent and amounted to SEK 9,182 million (8,101). Adjusted for divested operations and exchange rate effects, net sales increased by 14 percent.
Operating profit increased to SEK 420 million (318) and the operating margin improved to 4.6 percent (3.9). Several of the units in Civil Engineering in Sweden reported higher earnings during the period. The operating margin for the latest rolling 12 month period was 4.3 percent compared to 4.0 percent for the full year 2025.
Orders received and order backlog

The level of orders received was lower during the second quarter 2026 and amounted to SEK 3,472 million (4,083).
January – June 2026
The level of orders received increased during the first half-year 2026 and amounted to SEK 9,857 million (8,953). Calculated on a rolling 12 month basis the level of orders received was 112 percent of net sales.
Order backlog on June 30, 2026 has increased and amounted to SEK 22,841 million (20,698). Roads and other infrastructure make up the largest portion of the order backlog at 40 percent (37).
