Order situation
April – June 2026
The level of orders received, the highest ever so far in a single quarter, amounted to SEK 18,336 million (13,183). Orders received increased primarily in business area Construction, where several large projects were order registered during the quarter, including construction of the data center FIN04A in Kouvola, Finland worth EUR 130 million and the Oceanhamn Swimming Pool in Helsingborg worth SEK 825 million. The level of orders received decreased in business area Civil Engineering during the quarter while it was somewhat higher in business area Industry. The level of orders received in business area Project Development was higher due to more production starts of tenant-owner apartment projects. A large portion of Group orders received continues to come from the public sector.
January – June 2026
The level of orders received increased by 14 percent during the first half-year 2026 and amounted to SEK 33,897 million (29,757). The level of orders received increased in business area Construction and Civil Engineering during the period while it fell in business area Industry. The level of orders received in business area Project Development was more or less on par with the corresponding period last year. A large portion of Group orders received continues to come from the public sector.
Order backlog yet to be produced at the end of the period has risen to the highest level ever and amounted to SEK 57,292 million (51,757), despite a volume reduction of approximately SEK 900 million that arose by the sale of the subsidiary K Nordang.
Of the total order backlog, 61 percent (59) is expected to be produced after 2026 (2025). Swedish operations accounted for 81 percent (78) of the order backlog.
Preliminary contracts
Operations in business areas Construction and Civil Engineering often participate in dialogues with customers at an early stage prior to planned projects, so-called preliminary contracts. Through these preliminary contracts Peab is contracted to arrive at, together with the customer, an optimal product with the right quality and also deal with risks and uncertainties. As of 2024, we present the potential value of the final construction contracts generated by these preliminary contracts.
At the beginning of 2026 the potential value was around SEK 17 billion. During the period several projects went from preliminary contracts to construction contracts, which means that they have been included in Peab’s orders received. During the second quarter several preliminary contracts were registered as orders received primarily in business area Construction. At the same time we have received new preliminary contracts in both business areas Construction and Civil Engineering while some projects have fallen to the wayside. The value of the construction contracts generated from these preliminary contracts at the end of June was around SEK 19 billion, and these orders will potentially be received over the next two years.
